HeartCry Missionary Society was founded in 1988 by Paul Washer while he was serving as a missionary in Peru. Our primary mission is to support faithful indigenous missionaries and churches around the world so they can advance the Great Commission in a manner worthy of God.

We believe the most effective way to spread the Gospel is by coming alongside godly national pastors and missionaries who already know the language, culture, and people — equipping and supporting them as they plant churches and make disciples.

Our Core Convictions

The Scriptures are the only sufficient standard for faith and practice.
Sound doctrine is essential to healthy churches and effective missions.
Indigenous missionaries, sent and supported by their own churches, are key to reaching the nations.
All glory belongs to God alone for any fruit that results from this ministry.

Today, through the Lord's provision, HeartCry helps support hundreds of indigenous missionaries across more than 70 countries.
